Radio Kashmir employees demand removal of station director | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 10 : Employees of Radio Kashmir, Srinagar, today staged a dharna, demanding immediate removal of station director Bashir Arif for his alleged anti-employees policies. The dharna was held under the banner of Akashvani Announcers Association (AAA) and Programme Staff Association (PSA), during lunch hour near the main gate of the radio station. Addressing the employees, the PSA state secretary Talha Jehangir and AAA secretary Shamshad Kralwari said ever since the Bashir took over as the head of the station he has started victimising the employees. Talha said the programmes of the station were getting affected due to unnecessary interference of the station director. President (Srinagar unit) of AAA Ashfaq Lone said it was necessary to remove the director to save the Radio Kashmir, Srinagar, which has maintained the quality of all programmes under any circumstances. He said the director was unnecessary criticising the employees and had installed CCTV cameras to harass them. The employees are not also attending daily meetings because of the non-cooperative behaviour of the director, they said. Demanding the transfer of Bashir, they said otherwise all employees should be transfer enmass from here.
