Early Times Report
JAMMU: Shiromani Akali Dal (B), J&K, Jammu's Executive Committee met today on at its headquarter under the chairmanship of Party President Mohinder Singh to review the latest situation after the ongoing turmoil in Kashmir and its impact on general public and minorities including Sikhs in particular.
After detailed deliberation, it was felt that the situation in Kashmir Valley is still- grim leading to total breakdown of administrative machinery. All educational institutions are closed, offices are not functioning for the last over two months. People are forced to remain indoors thereby causing complete anarchy. General Public is not even getting commodities of daily use. Minorities are worst hit, they are living in fear psychosis in absence of any security being provided or assured whenever there is mass movement in the shape of rally.
The meeting appreciated the statement of Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Maulvi Farooq wherein they have been given full assurance of minorities protection in the valley .
The meeting, however, took a strong exception to the fact that Prime Minister has invited all parties in the meeting to discuss the present situation in Kashmir Valley but the representatives of political party Akali Dal (B) has been ignored who is directly related to the minorities issues in the state.
It was also decided that they should stand by all the decisions as may be taken by 31 member committee already constituted under J&K SGPC chairmanship and extend it full support.
It was also decided that Central Body of SAD(B) be kept informed of the situation on day to day basis for help and interventions whenever needed.
They later decided to sought an intervention of SGPC Amritsar and help the Sikh minorities of Kashmir and state as a whole.
The meeting also decided to form a core group which may remain in touch with Sikhs in valley
to ascertain day to day situation and work in complete cooperation with 31 member committee and other Sikhs organizations . Among others who participated included Babu Sant Singh, Surinder Singh Advocate, Balbir Singh, Suchwant Singh , Avtar Singh and others.
