| ADC reviews arrangements for Budha Amarnath Yatra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 10:
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Jammu, Mr. D.R Sharma today convened a meeting of officers and representatives from Shri Budha Amarnathji Samiti to discuss arrangements being made by various departments for smooth conduct of Shri Budha Amarnath Yatra commencing from August 12, 2010.
During the meeting, detailed discussion was held on providing better basic amenities to the visiting devotees including security arrangements, sanitation, cleanliness of the venue, water supply, power supply, medicare, regulation of traffic and maintenance of roads etc.
Among others the meeting was attended by Deputy Director Tourism, Mr Ajay Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) and senior officers of Police, R&B, PDD, PHE, Health, Municipality and other allied departments.
The ADC informed that for comfortable stay of the yatries additional accommodation will be made available at Sant Babu Assa Ram Ji Ashram Jammu. The Health department was asked to keep available ambulance, medical teams and adequate medicines at the venue during the yatra days. Besides, R&B and Police department were directed to establish temporary sheds and adequate security for the visiting pilgrims.
