Lawyers’ strike affects court work | BAJ writes to PSC | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 13: The Jammu lawyers in response to a call given by Jammu Bar Association abstained from work today to protest statement of the Prime Minister regardingautonomy to Kashmir. The work in the courts including the high court was affected by the lawyers’ strike. Meanwhile President BAJ Advocate Sunil Sethi has written a letter to Chairman Public Service Commission Srinagar regarding shifting of venue of interview for KCS Judicial. In the letter it has been stated that the BAJ have received representation from the candidates of Jammu Province who have qualified the KCS (Judicial) Examination for shifting interview venue from Srinagar to Jammu which is scheduled to be started from August 23, 2010 at Srinagar. It is further mentioned in the letter that more than 60% of the candidates are from Jammu Province who have qualified the KCS Judicial Examination. Due to the present prevailing situation in Kashmir, it will not be conducive for the candidates of Jammu Province to go to Srinagar for interview and requested that the Venue for interview be shifted from Srinagar to Jammu for the candidates Jammu Province.
