2 killed, 7 injured in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, Aug 13: Two persons, including a CRPF jawan, were killed and seven others injured in separate road accidents in Kashmir valley today.
A CRPF constable was killed and two civilians were injured when three vehicles collided at Chachkoot-Awantipora, 32km from here on Srinagar-Jammu National highway, a police spokesperson said.
In a separate incident, a motorcyclist was killed when he was hit by a mini-bus near Ladoo, 18km from here in Pulwama district, he said.
Three persons were critically injured when a truck rolled down into a gorge at Kalgee, 115km from here in Uri sector of Baramulla district.
The incident happened when the driver of the truck, which was was on its way from Adwani to Choola village, lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a blind curve, he said, adding that the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Another truck overturned at Qazigund, 80km from here on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, resulting in injuries to its driver and another person who was travelling in it, the spokesman said.
