BSP demands dismissal of coalition govt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 13: Accusing the ruling coalition government of failing on all fronts in the State, Bahuajn Samaj Party (BSP) on Friday demanded dismissal of the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah government. The Party has also demanded holding of free, fair and fresh assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir inviting Hurriyat Conference to participate so that the people could elect their “real representatives”. “During All Party Meeting, we apprised the Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh that the ruling coalition government has miserably failed to tackle law and order problem in Kashmir Valley. We suggested that Omar Abdullah led government should be dismissed,” BSP state president, Tulsi Dass Langeh told reporters here. He said, “We told the Prime Minister that Omar Abdullah led government is not a people-friendly regime but an administration-friendly system which had completely failed to control law and order problem.” Rejecting the proposal of Autonomy and Self-rule, the state BSP chief sought to clarify that the Prime Minister had not uttered even a single word over considering the NC’s proposal of autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir. “Only the NC president, Farooq Abdullah had raised the issue of autonomy which was virtually unnoticed by the Prime Minister,” he said. “We also raised the issue of discrimination with SC, ST and OBC people as they are not getting their constitutional right. Even after the lapse of 30 years Mandal Commission’s recommendations have not been implemented,” he said, adding “We also raised the issue of permanent settlement of demands of West Pakistani refugees who have not been granted citizenship rights even after 63 years of Independence.” Expressing concern over denial of security cover to BSP districts and state office bearers in Jammu and Kashmir, Langeh alleged, “The block presidents of Congress, NC and PDP have been provided security cover but the BSP state office bearers have been denied security. It has deliberately been done to hamper the political activities of BSP.”
