| Drug & food Control organization sleuths seize 1500 kg adulterated Khoya | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 13: The Food Wing of the Department of Drug and Food Control Organization under the supervision of Mr. Satish Gupta, Commissioner of Food Safety unearthed a racket involving some unscrupulous elements, who are involved in import of adulterated Khoya to this state,
A huge quantity of approximately 1500 kg of adulterated Khoya was confiscated from parcel office godown of Northern Railways as no claimant came forward to get release of booked consignment. The statutory samples of the consignment have been lifted under the provision of the prevention of Food Adulteration Act 1954. The consignment was onboard Rajdhani Express which was bound for Jammu Tawi on 12-8-2010 and reached Jammu station on today at 5.20 a.m. the sleuths of the department had laid nakas at all exit points of the Railway Station but the culprits fled from the spot to evade arrest. The investigation in the matter is under way and the offenders shall be booked under the relevant Law.
