| Ban on pro-separatist TV channels like NDTV has become imperative | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 13: The private TV channels like NDTV 24X7 have crossed all the limits. The situation has climaxed to the point that these separatist-friendly channels are organizing debates on Kashmir with a view to promoting the cause of the Kashmiri separatists and rank communalists and jeopardizing the paramount national interests.
And, the anchors like Barkha Dutt, whose pro-separatist and pro-fundamentalist credentials are no more a secret and who are being openly hailed by the protagonists of self-rule and dual sovereignty like Muzzaffar Hussain Beig for their contribution to the cause of the Kashmiri extremists and separatists, are inviting those to participate in the ill-motivated, ill-designed, and even perhaps separatist-sponsored debates, whose anti-India credential are too well-known. They are all recognized separatists and militants and some of them include Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Sajjad Lone, Shabnam Lone and Mehboob Beg, to mention only a few.
Similarly, the anchors like Burkha Dutt are inviting the supporters like former vice-Chancellor of the Jammu University Amitabh Mattoo, Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University (Kashmir) Siddiq Wahid, former RAW chief A S Dulat and so on so who are also known for their pro-separatist and pro-fundamentalist views. Burkha and others of her ilk and Mattoos, Wahids and Dulats and others of their ilk have, in fact, unleashed a no-holds-barred propaganda blitz against India and a relentless misinformation campaign to mislead the Indian public opinion. Their single-point agenda is to vitiate the country’s atmosphere to the extent possible so that the banefully influenced authorities in New Delhi could think in terms of driving Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh away from the national mainstream; so that the Kashmiri fundamentalists are able to establish in Jammu and Kashmir, which also house no less than 4.5 million non-Muslims, Islamic rule, called Nizam-e-Mustafa.
The likes of perverted, communally-motivated and pro-separatist propagandists Barkha Dutt are organizing anti-India debates on Kashmir on daily-basis and feeding misinformation, according dangerous respectability to the cult of violence, worst form of communalism and politics of separatism, based on religious fanaticism. This point needs to be underlined and emphasized. The Barkhas, Geelanis, Mirwaizs, Lones, Mattoos, Wahids and Dulats are trying to the hilt to unsettle the settled issue of Jammu and Kashmir. They have gone so perverted and biased that they hate to mention Jammu and Ladakh and the hapless people there who have been suffering enormous political and economic losses at the hands of the Kashmiri rulers since October 1947; who have been reduced to nullity by the Kashmiri leadership for all practical purposes. They hate and despise Jammu, they hate and despise Ladakh and they hate and despise the people these two provinces house. They also hate and despise the internally-displaced Kashmiri Hindus whose number is no less four lakh and who have been leading a wretched life outside the Valley since 1990, when the Islamic radicals made their last attempt to annihilate the miniscule minority of the Kashmiri Hindus or made their last attempt to force this minority to quit their homes and hearths.
The Barkhas, Geelanis, Mirwaizs, Mattos, Wahids and Dulats hate everyone in the state who are opposed to the Kashmiri politics of separatism, communalism and exclusion and they love and commend only those who have been bleeding India, attacking symbols of Indian authority and wrecking the Indian polity both from within and outside. In fact, they are part and parcel of the movement. That’s the reason the perverted, motivated, indoctrinated and highly biased journalists like Burkha Dutt do not invite anyone from Jammu or Ladakh. They exclude Jammu and Ladakh because they know the participation of Jammu and Ladakh in the debate would defeat their nefarious designs; because they know the presence of Jammu and Ladakh in the debates on Kashmir would render the likes of Barkha, Mirwaiz, Geelani, Lones, Mattoo, Wahid and Dulat clueless. It is this mortal fear of facing the truth that has made the likes of Barkha to rigorously exclude Jammu and Ladakh from debates on Kashmir. If at all the likes of Barkha would make up their mind to invite someone from Jammu, they would invite the one who toes her line. They know that there are a couple of Kashmiri agents in Jammu, including the one person in the University of Jammu, whose views are no different from those being shamelessly propagated by the likes of Barkha.
It would not be an overstatement if someone may so that they are all paid agents; they are all plants; and that they are their master’s voice. But the question is: What is the Union Government doing? Why is it not acting against them? Why is it allowing the anchors like Barkha and the channels like NDTV 24X7 and NDTV India to conduct themselves in the manner they are acting under its very nose? Where is the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting? Where is the Press Council of India?
It is time for the authorities to act and act very fast. The step is ban on such pro-separatist and pro-fundamentalist channels and stringent action against anchors like Barkha. Ban on such channels has become imperative and action against Barkha, Mattoo, Wahid, Dulat and others of their ilk has become a national requirement.
