Growing secessionism in Valley forces | KPs to intensify struggle for homeland | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 14: With the secessionist activities gaining momentum in Kashmir Valley for over a month now sealing the chances of the hapless Kashmiri Pandits to return to their homes and hearts, the community leadership is seriously thinking to intensify the homeland struggle for over seven lakh Pandits in Valley who are leading an exiled life in different parts of the country for over last 20 years now. There is a serious debating among the members of the displaced community at present on the disturbing situation in Kashmir and the future of the Hindu minorities who are the aborigines of the Valley whose cultural history dates back over 5000 years. " The deteriorating situation in the Valley where the secessionists are ruling the roost has put a question mark on the future of the minority Hindus in Kashmir'', said Ramesh Manwati a Delhi based Panun Kashmir leader. Manwati, who turned tables on both Central and state governments said how long the community will lead an exiled life as both GOI and State Government have no will power to curb the terrorism and secessionism. " Instead of crushing the terrorists with iron hands the Government is pursuing the appeasement policies towards them while it has totally neglected the plight of exiled Hindus from Valley who are the victims of the Pak sponsored terrorism'', he added. He said the statement of Prime Minster to grant autonomy to J&K state has hurt the Kashmiri Pandits for whom autonomy and Azadi is one and the same thing. The Pandits who have outrightly the autonomy are now left with no alternative but to intensify the struggle for homeland within Kashmir Valley with U T status, he added. The Pandits are left with no alternative now except to intensify the struggle for homeland said, Kundan Kashmiri, president Kashmiri Pandit Conference. The secessionists in Kashmir are unnecessarily crying. It is they who took the gun against the innocent minorities and forced them to flee the Valley, grabbed their immovable and movable properties and razed their houses to ground. But no one took the cognizance of it, he added. The Government lacks the will power to curb the secessionism in Valley and they are making the hapless KPs a scapegoat, he said, adding the community will no longer tolerate this. Kashmiri said his organization will invite all the well meaning leaders of all KP organizations within India and abroad to launch a joint struggle for carving out homeland with Valley as Pandits are opposed to both autonomy and Azadi. The Homeland is only alternative to KPs present problems and it is high time for the community leaders to sink their all differences and join the struggle for attaining the goal, said Dr Ashok a PK leader. He said the PK activists will launch a door to door campaign in intensifying the struggle and ask the community members to support it fully. Justifying the demand he said "when GOI is ready to grant autonomy to Kashmir why will not it consider the KPs demand of homeland with UT status within Valley", he asked?. |
