Jammu , Aug 16: Van Mahotsav was celebrated by Heritage School today at School premises. Regional Director Social Forestry Department A.K.Tikko, was the Chief Guest and retired Principal Chief Conservation of
Forests S.D.Swantantra IFS, was the guest of honor.
student of KG and Primary classes presented a colourful programme highlighting the importance of tree and conservation of Bio-diversity.
A paper reading contest on Bio-diversity was the focus of the programme in which speakers from classes VII to X participating, enthusiastically.Tavleen Kour of 10th Class,Venkat Sarkar of 7th Class and Rhythm Babbar also of 7th class were declared as first,Second and Third respectively.
Speaking on the occasion. A.K.Ticku appreciated the student for their talent and Richness of thought and deep concern for mother Earth and its health.The speakers, he felt, touched every aspect of bio-diversity and the need to conserve it for survival of Mankind.
At the end of the function, saplings were planted by the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour and Principal of the School while vote of thanks was tabled by the Head Mistress.
