JAMMU, Aug 16: After winning the basketball title, hosts Sainik School Nagrota today clinched hockey trophy outplaying Sainik School Kapurthala by a solitary goal in fourth and last league tie in the ongoing North Zone Inter-Sainik School Sports Festival at Nagrota, near here.
The second place in hockey went to Sainik School Kapurthala, who won three of the four league matches. Sainik School Kunjpura claimed third place with a win and a draw to their credit.
Similarly, the football title went to Sainik School Kapurthala after the side topped with all four wins. Second place went to Sainik School Kunjpura with three wins and a loss.
In volleyball, the tomorrow’s last league tie between Sainik School Kunjpura and Sainik School Ghorakhal will decide the winner.
HOCKEY: In today’s last league tie, played in the morning session, Sainik School Nagrota defeated Sainik School Kapurthala 1-0. In another match, Sainik School Ghorakhal trounced Sainik School Sujanpur Tira again 1-0.
FOOTBALL: In football, Sainik School Kapurthala won their last league match against Sainik School Sujanpur Tira by three goals to nil to clinch the title. Hosts Sainik School Nagrota could not do well in this event.
SUB-JUNIOR FOOTBALL: In Sub-junior football event, the last league tie between Sainik School Sujanpur Tira and Sainik School Kunjpura, scheduled for tomorrow, shall decide the winner. Sainik School too is in race for the title with two wins and a draw. Earlier, in today’s league round, Sainik School Nagrota beat Sainik School Kapurthala 5-2 while Sainik School Kunjpura defeated Sainik School Ghorakhal 2-1.
VOLLEYBALL: In this event, the fate of the winner will be decided when Sainik School Kunjpura meets Sainik School Ghorakhal in the last league tie tomorrow. Earlier, in today’s matches, Sainik School Nagrota beat Sainik School Sujanpur Tira 3-0 and Sainik School Kunjpura defeated Sainik School Kapurthala with similar margin.
DEBATE: In English debate competition, Sainik School Nagrota bagged first position while Sainik School Sujanpur Tira finished second. Third place went to Sainik School Kunjpura.
