Pradhi Gang King-pin remanded to judicial custody

Jammu, Aug 16: The Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, Ashok Kumar Shan today granted judicial remand of Sangram Singh Pradhi alleged King-Pin of Pradhi Gang involved in much publicized murder of Cement Tycoon RB Chopra, his wife Madhu Chopra, daughter Saloni Chopra, Servant Sonu and driver Jagan Nath, on September 16, 2006.
The SP City South Jammu Incharge SIT filed an application in which it has been submitted that the police failed to extract requisite information from Sangram Singh Pradhi during his custodial interrogation, upon which CJM was approached for seeking consent of accused for his Narco test. Before CJM, accused has given consent for his Narco Test. As per the Incharge SIT accused was taken to FSL Gandhi Nagar Gujarat for Narco test. On August 6, 2010 a request was made to FSL Gandhi Nagar Gujarat for Narco test of accused Sangram Singh Pradhi but no date has been conveyed for bringing the accused for his Narco test and with any such test it is not possible to take the accused to Gujarat. As per the Incharge SIT period of custody of accused is expiring tomorrow, so accused has been brought back as per order of the Court. He requested that right of investigation for taking accused to Gujarat may be reserved whenever the date is conveyed from there.
The court after hearing CPO Pawan Khajuria appearing for the police and also examined the CD File, photocopies of consent orders of accused as well as written rerquest to FSL Gujarat, allowed the prayer of investigator, reserved the right of Investigator for taking the custody of accused Sangram Singh for his Narco Test as consented by him to be conducted in FSL Gandhi Nagar Gujarat as and when ever a date is fixed for his test. The accused has been lodged in District Jail Amphabla Jammu as per the request of Police as the approver Vicky is lodged in Kot-Bhalwal Jail and directed Supt to produce the accused on August 26, 2010, when the date of main case is fixed.
