| VOJ books ASI for graft | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 16: Vigilance Organization Jammu has registered a case against Girdhari Lal Sharma, former ASI Incharge Police station Akhnoor, u/s 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 r/w 161 RPC on the complaint of one Babu Ram accusing him of demanding and accepting Rs 500 as bribe for lodging the FIR u/s 377 RPC.
According to the FIR after verification of allegations leveled by complainant that in the month of January 2008, complainant goes to police station for registering of FIR against one Vikram Kumar in a case of Sodomy. It was alleged in the complaint that ASI Girdhari Lal Sharma who was functioning as Incharge Police Station Akhnoor who initially demanded Rs 1000 for registering the case. On great persuasion by the complainant it was settled at Rs 500 which paid to him. Then ASI after accepted bribe amount registered a case u/s 377 RPC against Vikarm Kumar and after verification case was registered against then ASI and investigation is entrusted to Inspector Rajesh Sharma.
