| Bhalla lays foundation stone of cremation ground | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 16: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has said that coalition Government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was committed to provide all infrastructural facilities to the inhabitants of peripheral areas at par with urban centres including adequate drinking water, electricity, healthcare, education, road connectivity and drainage system.
This was said by the Minister after laying the foundation stone of cremation ground at Lower Gaddigarh near Rohi Morh, being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 78.08 lakh by Roads and Buildings department.
Bhalla asked the executing agency to complete the ongoing construction work of cremation shed, waiting shed, approach road and water reservoir within stipulated time frame. He asked the locals to personally monitor the development works in their locality and inform the higher authorities in case of any laxity.
For early disposal of revenue related issue of the people of Satwari Zone, the Minister said that Government has approved Rs 172.80 lakh for construction of Revenue Complex (Niabat building) in Lower Gadigarh adding that the double storey complex would be completed by November this year in providing all infrastructural facilities. He said that all the new Revenue Complexes are being developed on modern lines with focus on installation of people-friendly mechanism, adding that the aim of the Government is to evolve such a system in which offices functioning in a paper free and hassle free manner, as envisaged in e-Governance.
At Rani Bagh, the construction of deep drain work was started in the presence of the Minister, for which Rs 50 lakh has been earmarked. To ease rush in Gandhi Nagar and city hospitals, he said that a Primary Health Centre costing Rs 1.60 crore has nearing completion at Bhour camp adding that Government is planning to construct one more hospital in the Lower Gadigarh, for which detailed project report costing Rs 1.50 crore has been submitted to concerned ministry for funding.
He said that Government has approved Rs 5 lakh for construction of 150 meter long deep drain from main road to Balol nallah and Rs 12 lakh for construction of 500 meter long Gurudwara Sahib to Lower Gadigarh link road.
