Sham reviews progress of developmental projects

DODA, Aug 16: Minister for Health , Horticulture Sham Lal Sharma, who is also the chairman of the District Development Board Doda, on Monday convened a review meeting of the District and sectorial officers to review physical and financial progress on various ongoing developmental works in the district here at Bhaderwah.
Minister exhorted upon the officers to fully utilize the funds in a judicious manner while ensuring the quality of work on ground. He said that 50% of the approved out lay of the District Plan has been released and expressed satisfaction over the work done and expenditure made so far.
Sham directed the officers to work in coordination and adopt a professional approach for effective implementation of various schemes like MGNREGA, NRHM, PMGSY, PMRP to ensure benefits to the targeted population and completion of various projects within stipulated time frame.
MLA Bhaderwah Mohd Sharief Niaz and MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta also highlighted various issues which include augmentation of Bhaderwah Water Supply Scheme , setting up of Processing Unit, besides early completion of ongoing projects, like New Bus stand Bhaderwah , New SDH Hospital , various road projects , Irrigation schemes like Kandi Canal , besides renovation of Shiva Canal.
Apprising the meeting regarding the augmentation and upgradation of Bhaderwah Water Supply Scheme, Superintending Engineer PHE Doda revealed that an amount of Rs 480.56 lacs have been received out of Rs 1177.98 lacs and an expenditure of Rs. 471.47 lacs has been incurred till date.
Minister said that government was providing all possible help and assistance to the private players in establishment of small processing units , grading stores and other income generating units for which 60 % subsidy is being provided and asked the officers concerned to motivate the youth to avail the benefits of these schemes.
Earlier the minister inspected Government Hospital Thathri and SDH Bhaderwah.
The Minister interacted with the patients and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. He asked the Hospital authorities that people should get every possible health care and do not face any inconvenience at any cost.
