CAPD realizes Rs 9050 from defaulters | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 16: Continuing its drive to enforce strict adherence to Essential Commodities Act by the businessmen, a team of CA&PD Department conducted vigorous checking in Jammu city and Poonch district and charged a fine of Rs 9050 from the violators, for overcharging of the rates/non-display of price list and use of domestic cylinders in the commercial establishments. All the Assistant Directors of Jammu division are directed to conduct market checking of essential commodities, especially fruits and vegetables/pulses etc with the coordination of district administration. As per the specific information of Assistant Director Reasi, there are complaints against the distributers of LPG at Katra and short supply of LPG at Khour tehsil. In this connection the Director CAPD conducted a meeting with the State Level Coordinator of Oil companies and requested them to keep close watch on misuse of domestic LPG being used for commercial purposes and ensure adequate supply of LPG to the needy consumers. All the distributers of LPG, Hoteliers, Fast Food vendors, Caterers, Halwais and Dhaba owners are directed to refrain from the use of domestic LPG for commercial purposes. The defaulters well be dealt with under rules. |
