| Independence day celebration continues | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 17: To mark the occasion of Independence, Govt, Boys Hr. Sec School Navabad organized impressive function in the school premises. The function started by hoisting of national flag by M.S Jamwal, Head of the institution followed by national anthem and march past by the students. Students presented colorful cultural items which enthralled the audience. Vote of thanks was given by the Principal Nath Ram Ji. Later refreshment was distributed among the students.
Vijaypur Block congress committe celebrated I-Day at Vijaypur. Ex-Minister S. Manjit Singh was the chief guest on the occassion. Ex. Minister manjit Singh along with Disst president Prakash sharma and block president Capt Amarnath hoisted the tricolour. several other party leaders along with more than one thousand workers were also participated in the programme. After flag hoisting sweets was also distributed among the workers amidst slogans. S. manjit Singh and other party leaders greeated the people on 64th I-Day and appealed for maintaining communal harmony in the State. Ex. Minister also the appreciated the role of Congress in freedom struggle of country and higjlighted the acheivments of UPA and COngress-NC coalition govt. of the State. In his speech, he also criticised the discrimanation with congress men by the local MLA and administration. |
