MANNU organizes French historian lecture | | | Agency Hyderabad, Aug 17: Maulana Azad National Urdu University Hyderabad on 16th instant at its campus conference hall. Dr. Thiery CDiCostanzo of Starsbourg university, France has delivered the lecture covering the role of the English press then owned by muslims during pre-independence era of 1930s, 1940s. Based on the empirical research findings of his study Dr Thiery analysed case of the "Star of India" a daily English Newspaper, published from Kolkata. He also presented his case material and discussed, referring to the then press coverage on the idea of creation of Pakistan, as to how muslims had perceived it as well as the resources of national leaders on the issue of a separate state. He argued that the English media which was owned by the elite Muslims during those days could not flash an outlook on the perceptions of Muslim masses on the Two-Nation Theory. Faculty members across all the departments in the University attended the lecture and participated in the discussions after the lecture. The CSSEIP's In-charge Director, Dr. P.H. Mohammad, chaired the session. Mr. K.M. Ziyauddin, Assistant Professor of CSSEIP offered vote of thanks. Its a multi-disciplinary course and teachers working in degree colleges and above in any discipline are eligible to participate.
