Dy CM reviews progress of city’s mega projects | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Aug 18: Stressing the need for having time bound appraisal of ongoing development works, Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has said that periodic review of the projects is a must to clear the impediments cropping up during the execution. The Deputy Chief Minister said this while chairing a high level meeting convened to review status of various projects and development works undertaken by the Housing and Urban Development Department, here today. He reviewed status of various development works and their up to date progress. These works are under different stages of execution by SMC, LAWDA, Local Bodies and SDA. The Deputy Chief Minister called for devising appropriate measures to ensure that the pace of progress on various development projects is kept up and their completion achieved on time especially in Dal Lake. He also reviewed the status of rehabilitation project of Dal dwellers in Rakh-i- Arth, impressing upon the concerned officers to speed up the pace of the mega project. Tara Chand asked the SMC to undertake sanitation drives early in the morning for the proper maintenance and hygienic health of the summer capital. He directed for installation of street lights at all those places where such facilities have got damaged. The Deputy Chief Minister was also briefed over the targets fixed for identification of beneficiaries and the progress achieved under local bodies. He stressed on the timely completion of tendering process and directed for making up losses through redoubling the efforts.
