BJP concerned over deteriorating security situation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 18: Expressing concern over the deteriorating security environment in the state and on borders touching China, BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas stated that we must remain vigilant and ever ready to give a befitting reply to those who harbour inimical intentions against India. Manhas said the recent reports of deploying advanced nuclear capable missiles by China on its borders with India is a serious matter and the Union government should take cognizance of such developments on borders. He said there have been persistent reports of Chinese incursions for the quiet some time and now comes the information that it is not only deploying advanced nuclear capable missiles but also planning to set up air-borne quick deployment forces, specifically for deploying on Indian borders to threaten and intimidate. This coupled with its all weather friend Pakistan’s instigated lawlessness in the valley should put all patriotic forces on alert. He added that extra vigilance is called for by the Union government in view of these developments. BJP Chief, while advocating continuance of dialogue and improvement of bilateral relations with China, cautioned the government and the nation about the bonafides, reliability and sincerity of China vis-a-vis its intentions in respect of India. He reminded the nation about the Chinese duplicity of raising the slogans of -”Hindi Chini Bhai bhai” and suddenly stabbing the nation in the back by launching aggression in 1962. Manhas asked the Union government to strengthen its intelligence agencies so that we have not to depend on other countries for the latest developments on borders so that timely action is taken.
