| NC-Cong coalition a big failure: Prof Chaman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 18: The leader of BJP Legislature Party Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has termed the NC-Congress coalition as big failure leading to anarchy in the valley and chaotic condition in Jammu and other parts of the state.
Addressing a workers convention under “District Level Public Awareness Programmes” at Reasi, 78 km from Jammu, Prof Gupta said that as was feared the unholy re-union of the NC and Congress has again brought a most different situation in the state, especially in the vale of Kashmir, where the protagonists of “Nizam-e-Mustaffa” are dominating the whole situation and the existence of the government has been badly paralysed. The religious places are being misused to blare anti-national slogans and issuing of calendars and “farmaans” of the fanatic leaders of the Hurriyat Conference and other separatists, he added and observed that the nationalist elements have been taken as hostages by the anti-nationals.
Prof Gupta regretted that despite warnings, the coalition leaders of the state and also the ruling leadership of New Delhi has indulged in lowering of the guards both on the borders as also in the hinter land, as a result of which the infiltrators and separatists have intensified their activities. The worst crime to the national interests by these ruling leaders has been committed in demoralizing the security forces to fight out terrorists and subversives.
He appealed the activists keeping in view that dangers looming large, there is a dire need to awaken the masses and organize them to fight the fundamentalism, which has grown in the valley of Kashmir and elsewhere.
The party MLA from Reasi Baldev Raj Sharma, in his address, said that he is committed for equitable development of all the areas of the constituency.
He asked the party cadres to reach the masses with programmes and policies of BJP and get them associated with it
A number of prominent political and social figures including NC Block President of Pouni Liaqat Ali,Retd Head Master Sham Lal, Congress Youth president from Bhamag Aditya Thakur and Retd SI Puran Chand, along with their supporters joined BJP in presence of Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta and other senior leaders.
