Kashmiri separatists' hypocrisy exposed, needed to be excommunicated

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 18: News channel, Times Now, needs to be congratulated by one and all in India in general and in its Jammu and Kashmir in particular. It has accessed documents which not only expose the hypocrisy and duplicity of Kashmiri separatists like the Dukhtran-e-Milat's chief, Syeda Asiya Andrabi, but also re-establish that Kashmiri separatists have one set of rules for their sons and daughters and another for other Kashmiri Muslim boys and girls. The accessed documents establish that the Kashmiri separatists want their sons and daughter to live in safer places and study abroad and that they want all other Kashmiri boys and girls to boycott educational institutions and suffer for what they call the Kashmiri cause. What is striking is the fact that whenever any separatist gets exposed, all other separatists, who otherwise operate from different platforms and often seen quarreling with each other, take no time to stand solidly behind the one who is exposed by the responsible section of the media.
The latest example is the unflinching and shameful support of Hurriyat leader Bilal Lone to Asiya Andrabi. Andrabi, according to Times Now, wanted her 18-year-old son Mohammad Bin Qasim to undertake a course in information technology in Malaysia. The fact came to light when Qasim applied for a passport. Immediately after accessing the relevant documents, Time Now started educating the public opinion about the double-standards being applied by separatists like Andrabi to their sons and daughters and other Kashmiri boys and girls. At 10 P.M. on Tuesday, Time Now organized a special debate on this issue. Three persons participated in the very timely-organized debate. They were Bilal Lone, Asiya and Panun Kashmir chairman Dr Ajay Chrungoo. Arnab Goswami conducted the debate and asked serious and searching questions to the participants in the debate so that the people could see for themselves to which class these separatists belong and what they do when their personal interests and the interests of their family members are involved.
Arnab Goswami repeatedly asked Asiya and Lone to explain as to why they were applying one set of rules to their sons and daughters and another to other Kashmiri boys and girls. He reminded both Andrabi and Lone that they had been repeatedly asking the Kashmiri boys, other than those belonging to the separatist leaders, to "shun education for Kashmir's freedom"; that they were instigating the Kashmiri youth to indulge in violent activities directed against the Indian State and the State Government; and that how was it that Asiya wanted her son Qasim to go to Malaysia for acquiring education? He even quoted certain statements of Asiya verbatim in this regard. He tried his best to obtain answer from them, but with no success.
Instead of answering the Arnab's questions, the shameless, cornered and clueless Bilal defended the Asiya's decision to the hilt and said she had every right to send her son anywhere. Not only that, he accuse Goswami of tarnishing the image of freedom fighters in Kashmir by organizing such "senseless and motivated debates." As for Asiya, she, like Bilal, did not answer any question put by Goswami. Nor did she respond in the manner she should have when confronted with the official documents indicating the desire of Qasim to go to Malaysia for higher education. On the contrary, she, like Lone, accused Goswami of unleashing a malicious propaganda against her." "Enemies of our freedom struggle", she said, "have nothing else to malign her person."
Bilal Lone not only questioned the very integrity and intentions of Goswami. He used uncivilized words against Dr Chrungoo as well because the latter did some plain-speaking, put things in perspective and stated in unequivocal language that the separatists like Geelani and similar others have not only been leading a life of luxury, but have also exported their wards to safer places outside Kashmir. The bitterly stung Bilal Lone and Asiya Andrabi went to the extent of accusing Dr Chrungoo of "setting up his political shop in Jammu." Dr Chrungoo did exceedingly well when he told Lone on his face that "he migrated to Jammu because of the regressive and intolerant ideology of the Kashmiri separatists." The two interventions of Chrungoo must have unnerved Amitabh Mattoos, who have been singing the pro-separatist irritating and provocative songs since years in order to strengthen the separatists' and communalists' hand and promote their selfish intentions.
Anyway, though Goswami did not get answer to any of his searching and relevant questions, he did expose the Kashmiri separatists' hypocrisy and duplicity. It is to be seen if the common Kashmiri Muslims would ultimately change their attitude towards Asiya Andrabi and others like Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Islamic radical and lawyer Mian Abdul Qayoom and isolate, discard and excommunicate these extremists. They should. They must show these separatists their rightful place. They must ask the Kashmiri two specific questions: How could the separatists like Andrabi think in terms of sending their sons and daughters to safer places and go abroad for higher education and how could they ask other Kashmiri boys and girls to shun education, come on the roads and streets of Kashmir to throw stones at the security forces, indulge in arson and attack public property? How could the Kashmiri separatists add to the woes of the common Kashmiri Muslims when they themselves are leading a luxurious life in the Kashmir's posh and well-protected colonies?
The common Kashmiri Muslims should not attach any importance to the Asiya's statement that "I will not send my son to any foreign country for acquiring education" for the simple reason that she made this statement when got exposed. And, they must remember that there is not one Andrabi, one Geelani and one Qayoom in Kashmir. All the separatists in Kashmir belong to the same stock. They want to keep the common Kashmiri Muslims illiterate because they want their own sons and daughters to obtain higher education outside Kashmir so that they could reign supreme in the Kashmir Valley; so that they could exploit the illiterate Kashmiri Muslims; and so that they could manipulate things in the way they want. Actually, the Kashmiri separatists like Andrabi and Geelani are working as per a meticulously crafted strategy.
Will the common Kashmiri Muslims in general and their wards in particular rise to the occasion and fight for their right to education and right to live peacefully by rejecting outright those who have paralyzed everything in Kashmir? Let's wait and watch.
