Junior cueists leave for Pune | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 19: Junior cueists, who have to undergo qualifying round, left for the venue to participate in the National Billiards and Snooker Championships to be held at Pune in Maharashtra from tomorrow. This over three-week long championship, organised by Maharashtra Billiards and Snooker Association under the banner of Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI), shall conclude on September 14. In all, six players were cleared by the J&K Billiards Association for the junior snooker event on the basis of performance in the recently held state championships. The selected boys are Nitin Sharma, Miya Bashir, Dilawar Mir, Muzaffar Nath, Abhishek Goswami and Mian Bashir. In junior billiards, Abhishek Goswami and Miyan Bashir shall represent the state. Similarly, in senior group, state champion, Kamal Rohmetra, runners-up, Kuldeep Sharma, Sumesh Turki and Mohit Mahajan shall be competing in senior snooker. In senior billiards, only Sumesh Turki’s name has been cleared by the Association.
