FWO organizes interaction with Veer Naris | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, AUG 19: AWWA forms an integral part of the Indian Army’s commitment towards promoting welfare activities for service personnel, ex servicemen, Veer Naris and their respective dependents. AWWA through its motto of Asha, Vishwas, Astha has always made sincere efforts, to assist and establish our soldiers and their dependents, which have made unending sacrifices in service of the nation. To commemorate and reiterate this unbridled resolve and commitment, an AWWA Week is being celebrated at Udhampur Military Station. As part of the AWWA week, an interaction with Veer Naris of Udhampur district was organised under the aegis of Family Welfare Organisation (FWO), Northern Command on 19 Aug at Udhampur Military Station. The event was inaugurated by Ritu Jaswal, President AWWA, Northern Command in attendance of important civil and military dignitaries. Veer Naris who primarily belongs to far flung and remote areas of Udhampur district were invited with an aim to make them aware of various steps being undertaken by the Government of India, Jammu & Kashmir state and the Indian Army for their betterment and secure future. Ritu Jaswal, President AWWA, Northern Command, during the interaction, expressed her deep gratitude to the Veer Naris for the sacrifices they have made for the nation and took the opportunity to initiate concrete efforts towards ameliorating any problems being faced by them. A medical & dental camp was also established on the occasion with specialist medical facilities and medicines. Representatives of various offices like Zila Sainik Board, Pension Board, Director Resettlement, Placement Node and Ex-servicemen Helpline also interacted with the Veer Naris to provide awareness on important issues like government jobs, employment/self employment opportunities, educational awareness etc. At the end, as a mark of love, gratitude and goodwill for the Veer Naris, they were facilitated by President AWWA, Northern Command. A more festive look to the celebrations is being provided through special screening of films for families of the station at the Dhruva Auditorium. The celebrations will culminate with a two days long AWWA Mela at Chinar Complex, where all ranks and their families for once will forget their daily chores and problems and enjoy the festivities, decked with various games & food stalls at the venue
