Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 19: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party advocate Hari Chand Jalmeria while having reviewed the progress of the ongoing membership campaign of the party has exhorted the party activists to explain the policies and achievements of the party to all sections of the people and enroll maximum membership.
Jalmeria conducted 3 days extensive tour of district Kathua and addressed meetings of party workers at Kathua, Basohli and Billawar.
“Panthers Party is the only secular party of the state, which is fighting against discrimination and for equality amongst three regions of the state and their equitable development in all fields. It stands firm on secularism and national integration and is opposed to communal, divisive and secessionist forces,” stressed Jalmeria in a press release issued here.
The Party held one day Mass Contact Programme at SACHARA near Macchedi in tehsil Billawar where over 2000 people had gathered. Addressing the gathering Jalmeria expressed deep concern over the steep rise in prices of the essential commodities during the ongoing rule of UPA led by Cong in the Country which has made the life of common people miserable.
“The UPA govt. has proved pro-rich and anti-poor, he said and added, “In J&K the coalition of NC-Cong has proved corrupt and inefficient besides it has perpetuated discriminatory policies against Jammu Province. This govt. has allowed the situation to drift in the valley resulting into encouragement of separatist and secessionist forces causing a great damage to national integration”.
He ridiculed the NC-Cong alliance sticking to power despite deep erosion of their mass support and reiterated demand of the party asking for resignation and removal of NC-Cong Omar Farooq Govt and imposition of Governor’s rule for a brief period.
Speaking on the occasion, Shanti Sarup Basotra state general secretary of the JKNPP termed the NC as having worked on communal lines since its inception in the form of Muslim Conference in 1931 and termed the Congress as most opportunist.
He highlighted the achievements and policies of the Panthers party in the leadership of Prof Bhim Singh and appealed the people of the state especially Dogras to stand like iron wall in support of Prof Singh, cautioning, if they have to survive in future in view of growing developments.
After paying homage to the victims of Leh tragedy the gathering resolved demanding district for Billawar, reorganisation of J&K state making Jammu, Srinagar & Leh as round the year working secretariats with provincial assemblies, improvement in presently bad conditioned Billawar-Katli and Billawar-Macchedi roads and ply new buses there and provide requisite staff in all remote village Schools
