| Slathia for timely utilization of plan outlays | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Aug 19: Minister for Industries and Commerce, S S Slathia directed the officers of Industries and Commerce (I&C), SICOP, SIDCO, JK Minerals, Handicraft Corporation, Handloom Development Corporation, Handicrafts, Handlooms and Geology and Mining departments to work with utmost dedication and ensure proper and full utilization of funds released so far, adding 25 percent additional funds will be released within a couple of days.
Slathia said that next meeting for reviewing the pace of physical and financial status of these departments would be held on September 20, 2010 for which he directed the concerned officers to come up with accurate achievements and figures.
Minister was addressing a high level meeting of officers convened to review the targets achieved so far in the departments under his charge.
Threadbare discussions were held over various issues including pace of work of Udhyog Bhawan Valley. The Minister directed concerned Heads of the Departments to work for the betterment of the people and ensure attendance of their subordinate staff.
He asked the concerned officers to prepare agenda for Board of Directors’ meeting which will be held as per the fixed schedule.
The Handloom authorities informed the meeting that 8 cluster projects are functional in the State and 160 artisans have been trained in different trades viz shawls, tweed, curtain cloths etc in these project so far.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary, I&C, Umang Narola, Director I&C Kashmir, Managing Director of SICOP, SIDCO, JK Minerals, Handicraft Corporation, Handloom Development Corporation, Director Handicrafts Kashmir, Director Handlooms Kashmir, Director Geology and Mining, Consultant, I&C and other concerned senior officers of these departments.
