| People allege unplanned developmental works, hold protest | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Aug 19: Tall claims of the local civic body and district administration were exposed when water accumulated due to last night’s heavy rain entered several houses located in different localities of the city.
The infuriated residents today held a massive protest demonstration by blocking the Kathua-Kalibari link road for more than four hours against the alleged unplanned and sub-standard developmental works.
Shouting slogans against the administration, the protesters alleged that inordinate delay in execution of developmental works led to water logging in several parts of the and it water entered into residential houses resulting into heavy losses to the genral public.
They demanded adequate compensation for the losses.
The protesting people said that in last night’s heavy rains almost whole of Kathua immersed in water. Most of the parts were badly affected by overflowing of water but the area of Shiva Nagar Ward number 16 and Patel Nagar Ward number 15 were worst affected. |
