| Dutta assures compensation to farmers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 18: National Conference Women’s Wing provincial president, Laxmi Dutta during her tour of Rajouri district visited Nowshera, and villages of Handan, Ganya, Jaughar, Kalsia, Bibaie and Chhoti Makdi.
Dutta met the farmers of these villages who apprised her of the loss suffered by them due to heavy rains. She assured the farmers to take up the issue with concerned authorities and seek compensation for them.
She also assured the people that she will also pursue the authorities to sanction ex-gratia for the three children who died due to house collapse in Rajouri district.
Dutta also visited a sewing center run by the Government at Janghar. She called for opening of such sewing centers for women in other villages in general and Chhoti Makdi in particular.
