| UDEWF convenes meeting to put forth pending demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Aug 19: United Diploma Engineers Welfare Forum (UDEWF), today conducted a meeting under the chairmanship of Er Manjeet Singh at Irrigation Complex Jammu, wherein large number of Diploma Engineers from various Engineering wings participated.
President of the forum Er Gopal Badyal presided the meeting in which he appealed all the cadres to get united to fight for the causes of Diploma Engineers.
On the juncture, members of the forum demanded early release of Grade-I list of Junior Engineers in Hydro, R&B, Mechanical wing, restoration of entry level grade of junior engineers from Rs 4500-7000 to Rs 6700-10,700, promotion of every Diploma Engineer from JE to AE, as according to forum most of diploma engineers retire after 15 years of service, without availing even a single promotion.
The members further appealed to the president of the Diploma Engineers Association to conduct elections of DEA Jammu, which are pending since 2003 to get the cadre united under single umbrella.
Other who spoke on the occasion were, Er Kuljeet Singh, Er Satish Vaid, Er Romesh Labroo, Er JP Singh, Er Devinder Singh, Er Harish Kumar and many others.
