NC legislators, Rattan call on CM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 19: A deputation of J&K National Conference Legislators along with its provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta called on Chief Minster Omar Abdullah here the other day. The deputation appreciated the steps and measures taken by the coalition Government for curbing the present turmoil in Kashmir valley. They hoped that the collaborative efforts taken by the Govt. would definitely yield beet results for return of permanent peace and normalcy in the valley because the civil society of the valley, is now understanding that way in which the separatists, anti-national elements and vest interested, political parties are pushing the valley is totally distractive hopeless and spilling the future of the generation to come. The people of valley also understand that stone pelting, closure of schools, colleges, business establishments is no solution to any problem. The solution is to hold dialogue process in order to quell the unrest in the valley. The deputation also hailed the announcement of the Chief Minister regarding the devolution of powers to gross root level by holding Panchayat and Local bodies elect in the state as these are must for the equitable development to the people of all the three region of the state. The deputation also showed great concern to the prevailing situation of Jammu Province due to heavy rains and floods. The people are suffering very badly and facing great hardships. They have lost their houses and other valuables. The deputation demanded that the concerned authorities should assess the losses of the people and pay them adequate relief.
