| Democratic institutions never flourished in JK: Rehman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 19: Samajwadi Party (SP) State President Sheikh Abdul Rehman after attending all party meeting at New Delhi convened by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh few days back, has reacted to the statements issued by various political leaders which according to him, were not based on facts.
Addressing a press conference here today, Samajwadi Party chief said that because of follies of successive central and state Governments, the democratic institutions were never allowed to flourish in Jammu Kashmir.
Rehman said that during the all party meet he informed Prime Minister that the situation in the state is of deep concern for everyone in the county and that the problem is in fact a vexed one which has external as well as internal dimensions.
So for as external dimensions are concerned, the dialogue process between Foreign Ministers of India and Pakistan are under way but with little hope of concrete results in near future.
Samajwadi Party feels that the dialogue should continue with sincerity to achieve better results for the benefit of future generations of the two countries.
As regards internal dimensions, the Samajwadi Party hold successive state as well as central governments responsible for the present unrest and blood shed in valley.
