BAJ suspends work to protest harassment of Sikhs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 21: Bar Association Jammu today suspended work and the members abstained from work in all courts including High Court Wing of Jammu against letters sent to the Sikh Community in Kashmir Valley, threatening them either to convert to Islam or to vacate Kashmir. Taking serious note of it BAJ has warned the Govt to take stern action against the miscreants and assure protection of the Sikh Community in the Valley, otherwise BAJ will launch serious agitation and Govt will be responsible for that. People of Jammu have shown solidatry with the minority community leaving in Kashmir. General Secretary BAJ Adv Rajesh Thappa came down heavily upon the weak and impotent policy of the state which encouraging the anti-national elements in the State, he further demanded all the person responsible for anti-India demonstration in Jammu University should have been booked under PSA. On the call of Bar Association Jammu, the Advocates abstained from work in all Courts including High Court Wing of Jammu, due this the work suffered in the Court. JNF |
