SRML wins inter-school U-19 football title | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 21: The well-equipped side of Government SRML Higher Secondary School turned the tables against BSF Senior Secondary School to lift the inter-school under-19 football trophy beating latter 3-0 in the final played at GGM Science College grounds, here today. Leading by two goals in the first half, winners SRML added yet another goal after the breather thereby making it a big 3-0 win in the title clash this afternoon. Giving it a flying start, Rahul Ghai opened the account for SRML striking in the 15th minute, followed by a superb goal coming from Vikramjeet Singh (Shiva). Vikramjeet used power-packed right footer to net the goal in the 25th minute of the match. Later, after the breather, A Sharma made it a big win adding third goal in the 55th minute of the 60 minutes game. Now, SRML shall be representing Jammu district in the forthcoming inter-district divisional level football tournament. Earlier, in the semi-finals, BSF School defeated JK Public School by two goals to one. Lakhwinder Singh netted both the goals for the winners. From JK Public, Kunal Choudhary reduced the margin. In the second semi-final, SRML School trounced MHAC Nagbani School 2-0, courtesy two goals from Rahul Ghai. Today’s matches were officiated by Mohinder Singh, Ajay Kumar, Kushey Kumar and Rohit Kumar. This two-day competition was organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS).
