Expedite process of granting relief to refugees: Ravinder | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 21: Member Legislative Council and General Secretary Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Ravinder Sharma has urged the government to expedite the process of identification of all those displaced families of 1947 from POK who have not been so far granted the relief for their deficiencies of allotted land. Sharma, who has taken up the issue with the minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla and urged him to launch a campaign through the concerned revenue agencies where ever the displaced people have been settled and allotted land. He said that all those who are eligible and entitled for the relief as per package of the centre government, in lieu of the deficiencies of land than the scales prescribed for them, should be got identified and should be extended the benefit of the relief as per the enhanced rate of Rs 25 thousand per kanal with the sealing of up to Rs. 1.5 lacs. Urging the Central and the state governments as well as to the right thinking Muslims in Kashmir to provide fullest protection to the members of Sikh community in Kashmir valley, the association has warned that any case of harm to the members of Sikh community in Kashmir will have wide ramifications in Jammu as well as in the country as a whole. |
