Appealing young stone pelters of Kashmir to protest peacefully, Muslim Coordination Committee (MCC) for Jammu province has said that Government of India should initiate table talk with all the section of the state and particularly people of Kashmir who are presently engaged in confrontation with the forces.
Issuing press statement here after holding meeting at Dak Banglow Rajouri, MCC has said that they have also passed resolution at Rajouri pressing Government of India to hold talks on table with the people of the state. They also condemned the state action on the civilians.
In a meeting organized by Rajouri District MCC President Abdul Qayoom Dar, President of MCC Prof. Zahur-ud-Din has said that Muslim community of the state are united and they will not tolerate “brutality” in Kashmir. “We will no more tolerate state action on the people of Kashmir Valley who has been detained in their houses for the last three months”, he said demanding immediate talks with the people of Kashmir Valley.
He said that GoI had promised with the people of this state that they will hold referendum and the same have not been fulfilled. “New Delhi must come forward and fulfill its promise on referendum”, Prof Zahur said.
Prof. Zahur said that when KD Sethi and Balraj Puri like intellectual people are saying to hold talks with the Kashmiri people and solve the issue, there is no problem in saying that it is proper time to resolve this issue forever. He said that all Muslims of Chenab Valley region, Jammu, Kathua, Poonch Rajouri, Samba, Reasi and Udhampur have united under the platform of MCC and all have a single voice to do justice with the people of this state.
The meeting was attended by all Muslim intellectuals, Imams and politicians who strongly condemned the brutality of forces in the Valley and demand immediate dialogues with the people of Valley.
Spokesman of the Committee Ashiq Hussain Khan said that all Muslims are united and they are not going to tolerate state action on the civil people. He said that the stone pelters in Kashmir streets are not militants and they are part of this state but government is avoiding their voice due to reason better known to them. He said that the voice of Kashmiries is genuine and it should be listened. “When government had even attempted to talk with gunmen in recent past, what is the problem in talking with the civilians”, he said.
Earlier District President of the MCC Abdul Qayoom Dar welcomed the guests and briefed about the ideology of the Committee. He also throws light on the situation of Mulisms in this Muslim majority state and termed it unfortunate that Muslims are being harassed in their own state. He said that though they may not believe in the doctrine of Hurriyat leaders in Kashmir but they have full affection with the people of Kashmir and they will not tolerate injustice with them.
