Bomb hoax on highway, traffic disrupted

JAMMU,Aug 22: Following a bomb hoax, vehicular traffic was disrupted on the national highway at Digdol near Banihal, about 172 km from here, this morning.
Answering an emergency call that a bomb like object was lying by the roadside, army troops immediately reached the spot and stopped the flow of vehicular traffic from both sides.
Official sources said the troops noticed a bomb-like object which was half buried in the road.
Exercising all precautions, troops dug out the object which turned out to be a LPG cylinder wrapped in a polythene bag, the sources added.
After the area was declared safe, army allowed the vehicles to move on the highway.
Sources said the road remained blocked to vehicular traffic for few hours.
