| HC issues contempt notices | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 23: Justice Sunil Hali of Jammu & Kashmir High Court today in a contempt petition filed by Rajat Thakur against Commissioner/Secretary GAD and Financial Commissioner Home for willful and deliberate disobedience of the directions issued by the High Court vide its order April 1, 2010 issued notice to the respondents. The petitioner filed a petition in the state High Court seeking direction to the state and its functionaries for according him treatment similar to Vikram Singh Kotwal and Sunil Khajuria. Both of them were appointed as Sub Inspector in J&K Police. While considering the case of petitioner for compassionate appointment because of the death of his father Lt. Daljeet Singh who was Inspector in police and died on October 10, 2004.
High Court on April 1, 2010 allowed the petition and directed the respondent to consider the case of the petitioner for his appointment as Sub Inspector in J&K Police on Compassionate grounds on the lines similar to those adopted by the State Govt in considering the case of Vikram Singh Kotwal and Sunil Khajuria. It was alleged in the petition that the respondents have intentionally and deliberately slept over the issue and nothing has been done so far and prayed for initiating contempt proceedings against respondents.
