BJP extends support to the cause of BDS students | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 23: BJP has extended support to the cause of BDS students of Government Indira Gandhi Dental College, who for the last more than 15 days are struggling for their legitimate right to education and subsequently their career in super specialty of BDS. In a press statement issued here today, BJP State Spokesperson Dr Nirmal Kamal said that these students are virtually on the roads protesting against de-recognition of Dental College. It is in the knowledge of everyone that Ghulam Nabi Azad, then Chief Minister of the State and presently Union Health Minister, had rechristened the Dental College as IGDC with much enthusiasm but this college has been derecognized by DCI, putting the career of young aspiring dentists at stake. This is the only college in Jammu region which is catering to the young students’ career who otherwise had to go out of the State for availing the training in this line. Dr Nirmal Kamal further stated that BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas had met Union Health Minister recently at Delhi and had apprised him of with the problem of BDS students to which Union Health Minister had assured redressal. BJP thereby, extends support to genuine concerns of the BDS students who are running from pillar to the post for the recognition of the college which would save their careers. State BJP again urges the Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who hails from Jammu, to take necessary concrete steps at the earliest to save the career of these BDS students who should not be ignored at this stage.
