| Vishwas- A Belief initiates Go Green Campaign | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 23:
The NGO Vishwas- A Belief (V-AB) organized a Tree Plantation campaign at SOS Village, Channi Rama.
In a sheer manifestation of the program various saplings were planted in the premises of SOS Village by the Chief Guest former Principal Government Women College Gandhi Nagar Dr Urmila Khajuria, students and members of V-AB.
A painting competition was also held, at the end of which prizes and certificates were also distributed among the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Urmila Khajuria expressed her gratefulness towards the President of SOS Village A K Arora, the guardian Asha Sharma and other staff members for supporting such a noble cause.
She also appreciated the efforts of V-AB President Vivek Khajuria for initiating the tree plantation drive at this micro level as the students and children are soul and future of Nation.
The Vice President of V-AB O P Klandria, ex DC Udhampur gave emphasis on the Green India 2020 Mission and reiterated that the mission needs to be strictly adhered to by the Government with the collaboration and support of NGOs and community participation so that the target of afforestation of 20 million hectares is achieved by the stipulated time.
The programme ended with a pledge to make India green.
