JPPF rejects autonomy as intolerable | | | Early Times Report Jammu Province Peoples Forum (JPPF) has outrightly rejected autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir as intolerable and unacceptable. Addressing media persons, JPPF convenor and retd Judge Pavitar Singh while asserting that the autonomy of any kind will not be tolerated, appealed the central government not to talk of Autonomy as the state of J&K comprised of three regions Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. “If one part of the state is not satisfied, it doesn’t mean that the entire state be loathed upon with such misadventure”, he mentioned and out rightly opposed autonomy and said the Forum will go to any extend stop it from getting implemented. He opined that minority community in valley should be given full security cover so as to make them feel that there lives are fully secured. The Forum expressed hearty gratitude for peaceful columniation of Amarnath Ji Yatra which has crossed around five lakh figure which is highest in past years. While highlighting the other issues, the members expressed their concern over the slow pace of work of ERA at almost all parts of the city which has turned into the bad shape and the business community is facing lot of hardships. It requested the concerned authorities to take up the work with full swing so that the business could resume in its own pace. They also expressed concern for delaying tactics of the appointment of Vice Chancellor in the Central University of Jammu and till date no vice chancellor has been appointed and the work of Central University as a complete academic session has been wasted. The Forum warned the Govt to settle down the issue immediately and appoint a local Vice-Chancellor without any further delay. Others who accompanied Pavitar Singh included Sunil Sethi, president, Bar Association Jammu, Agnishekhar, convenor Panun Kashmir, Inderjeet Khujuria, Narayan Singh and others.
