| Bone Mass Density camp organized | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, August 23: A Bone Mass Density (BMD) camp was organized through the Orthopaedics department Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu in physiotherapy hall of the OPD block.
In continuation to the BMD Camps organized every month at Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu again a Bone Mass Density (BMD) Camp was organized through the Orthopaedics Department Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu in Physiotherapy Hall of the OPD Block.
It was a free camp where about 100 clients were screened by BMD machine and which was held under the clinical supervision of senior orthopedicians like Dr Kamaljeet Singh, Dr Rakesh Sharma and Dr Vikrant Sharma of Gandhinagar Hospital Jammu.
The camp would be held for two days on 23 & 24 August 2010.
The computerized machine has been brought from Delhi and by placing the foot on the machine whole body scan is done and a computerized report is generated. The BMD camp is held every month at Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu.
The BMD test measures how much calcium and other types of minerals are present in a section of the bone. The health care provider uses this test, along with other risk factors, to predict the risk of bone fractures in the future.
