8/23/2010 11:26:03 PM
Early times Report
Jammu, Aug 23: The continuance threat to Sikh in Kashmir valley is a very serious matter but it was unfortunate that both the government at the centre as also in the state are failing to act which shows that either they are incompetent or having no will to deal with the anti-national elements who are challenging the very fabric of India. This was stated by the leader of the BJP legislator Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, while interacting with the Sikh activists of the BJP and some other organization who called him to voice their concern about the happenings in the valley of Kashmir as Sikh are being harassed and threatened. Eh said what is happening in the valley, is not isolated but part of the same game plan which was occurring in certain parts of Afghanistan as also in Pakistan because of Talibani type of extremism. After forcing out Kashmiri Pandits, they are making as targets which are very serious matter. He said BJP understands the implications what was happening especially for over two months now. A total anarchy is prevailing but the leaders of the coalition of the National Conference as also that of the congress are playing a dubious role. They have tried to demoralize more of the security forces than having firm dealing with enemy agents. He assured the Sikh that party would do every thing possible to force the men in authority to act or quit. This matter was raised in the parliament too but the promises made by the ruling leadership has not been converted into actions. He said that the failure of both the state and of central government leaders speaks volumes itself and virtually they are responsible for what is happening. As far as Pakistan is concerned, there is no secret that they have launched a proxy war on the occasion. He ridiculed the claims of the certain top leaders of the Hurriyat Conference that their movement is political and not Islamic, Prof. Gupta questioned that if it was so, then why the religious places are being misused for blaring anti-India and Communal slogans. Why the minorities, especially Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their home and hearths. Who are those attacking the vehicles and truckers from Jammu areas. He maintained that problems in the valley are the result of communal thinking and follies committed by late Nehru who adopted the policies of appeasement and granted separate status to this state. The BJP leader said that the need of the hour is that firm measures should be taken to deal with those who are indulging in stone pelting and other such like unlawful acts. For this the asserted that all the right thinking people should build a strong public opinion to force and ruling leaders to perform their legal and constitutional obligations or quit honorably and make room for those who can defend the minorities and restore law and order. S.Rajinder Singh, S.Verinderjit Singh, S.Charanjit Singh Khalsa, S.Nanna Singh, S.Babu Singh, S.Amarjit Singh and S.Dedar Singh attended the meeting.
