| Army’s special programmes in Aug month concludes | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Aug 23
A month-long fraternising packages was organised for local populace of the far flung border areas of Rajouri and Reasi Districts by 54 Rashtriya Rifles (MADRAS) under the aegis of Headquarters 14 Sector Rashtriya Rifles. The package consists of ‘Run for Fun’ which organised for student on 01 Aug 2010. Approximately 520 students participated. Under vocational training a driving cadre, recruitment guidance cadre, computer cadre were conducted for the unemployed youths. A Historical visit for local was also organised to Salal Dam, Zorawar Fort and Bhimgarh Fort on 08 Aug 2010. On 15 Aug 2010, a grand Fauji Mela was organised. Volleyball matches between Army and JKP, drawing competition for school children and fancy dress competition were organised for the civil populace on 22 Aug 2010. A tailoring course also is being planned for the women of local areas of Rajouri and Reasi Districts. To increase medical awareness among the local populace, various lectures were taken by Medical Officer to include lecture on drug abuse, family planning.
The successful completion of this event will result in fostering closer relationship between the locals and the Army. This event will help the Army to generate better trust and goodwill amongst the masses besides winning their hearts and minds.
