| NSF celebrates Rakshabandan with Jawans | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 23:
National Secular Forum today organized a function at Octroi Post in RS Pura Sector and celebrated the Raksha Bandana with Jawans of 35th Battalion BSF, who hail from different parts of the country.
Commandant of the Battalion Vaneet Kumar was the chief guest whereas Manoj Karkee, Rakesh Chib JURSEA President and Romesh Choudhary were the guests of honour and Vikas Sharma State President NSF, presided over the function.
National Secular Forum (NSF) activists also visited the border area.
The Jawans who are not able to get leave to go to their sisters on the Rakhi festival due to service exigencies, or who do not receive these Rakhis on the festival through post, are showered sisters’ love in the shape of Rakhis by the girls of NSF and tied Rakhis to the Jawans of 35th Battalion BSF and offered sweets.
Commandant of the Battalion Vaneet Kumar appreciated the efforts of NSF and stressed upon the youth to shun their self centered out look and contribute in the development of the nation. He also appealed to the youth to come forward to eliminate all evils from the society.
Jawans of 35th Battalion BSF expressed their overwhelming joy and thanked their sisters for remembering them on the festival.
Assistant Commandant C.L Upadhaya, Surjit Chowdhary District Chairman, Ashwani Sharma, Swarn Singh, Ravi Choudhary, Priyanca, Sandeep Chib, Radhika Sharma, Shikha, Monica, Mamta, Neha were also present on the occasion.
