| Symposium on environmental protection held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Aug 23:
District Information Centre, Udhampur organized a symposium on the topic “Environmental Protection” in the premises of Sunrays Children’s Institute, Udhampur, today in which 10 students of the host school participated.
Shewata of 7th class clinched first position in the competition, while Robin of 8th and Miss Rekha of 7th class bagged second and third positions respectively.
Two consolation prizes were also given to Ismile and Koushal. The participants were awarded prizes and certificates of merit.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the School, Lalita Sharma lauded the efforts of J&K Information Department in organizing the event of great importance in his school. She said that by participating in such programmes, students get the opportunity to expose their talent which infuses self-confidence amongst them. She urged for holding more such programmes in educational institutions for the general awareness of the youngsters about the need of Environmental Protection.
The Artists of District Information Centre, Udhampur and students also presented a scintillating cultural programme on the occasion which was highly liked by the audience.
