MLA sanctions 12 lac from CDR for development projects | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 24: sanctioned Rs.12 lac from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the various developmental projects in Batote Niabat and inaugurated the medical sub-centres at Metra and Digdole in Ramban district today. During a public meeting (Darbar) at Batote today the main issues brought by the locals into the notice of Ashok Kumar included the water scarcity and supply of muddy water, need of bus stand, insanitation in Batote town and the speedy promotion of tourism in Batote. After consultation with the PHE engineers Ashok assured the public of Batote that the existing water filtration plant shall be repaired soon and for removing the scarcity of water the possibility of digging a borewell at Amar Chasma shall be explored after consultation with the concerned authorities and the experts. He said that to meet the growing demand of water in the town a water tanker has already been pressed into service in Batote town. On the demand of the public Ashok has sanctioned Rs.8 lac for the construction of a litigants’ Hall in the court complex of Batote, Rs.2 lac for the construction of steps of the public stand around the compound of the Government Higher Secondary School, Batote and Rs.1.5 lac (as per the need) for the construction of a shed each at the cremation grounds near Chakwa and Batote Check Post. He also assured the public that he would earnestly pursue the construction of a bus stand in Batote town with the concerned officers to fulfill the long cherished demand of locals. He promised to take up the matter of promoting tourism in and around Batote town with the government so that after the completion of Chenani-Nashri and Mantlai-Khelani tunnels the Batote town does not get ignored and the business or livelihood of locals is not affected. He said that he would do his level best for providing the status of Block and Tehsil to Batote. Earlier, he also inaugurated the medical sub-centres at Metra and Digdole which were constructed at the cost of Rs.12.5 lac each which would provide the health care facility to the locals there. |
