Thousands throng Mela Swami Buddha in Poonch

Thousands of devotees from all over India today throng Mela Swami Buddha on the occasion of Raksha Bandan at Mandi in border district Poonch following which annual Buddha Amarnath Yatra came to an end.
As per reports thousands of devotees gathered in Mandir Mandi Poonch to celebrate Raksha Bandan. The mela which is popularly known as Mela Swami Budhha was attended by local and outside devotees mostly from Rajasthan, Madhya Pardesh, Utter Pardesh, Bihar and Karnatka.
The Mela concluded after Havan and Pooja of Chhari Mubarak which was lator taken back to the Dashnami Akhara Poonch.
Renowned religious scholar Swami Vishwaatmanad Saraswati was Mahant of the programme. Thousands of Sadhus accompany the procession with Chari Mubark. A number of stalls were erected by the Muslim community for the Yatries.
There were tight security arrangements on the occasion. Deputy Commissioner Poonch KR Khajuria was personally monitoring the management of Yatra and Mela while he had deputed Chief Education Officer Poonch, Two Deputy Superintendents of Police, Tehsildar Mandi and Station House Officer Mandi to lookafter the Yatra affairs.
On the concluding day, senior Congress leader Bashir Ahmed Naz visited the Mela and termed it best example of communal harmony. He said that this is the only religious function of Hindus in which Sikh and Muslims too participate. He added that it is the tradition of the Muslim community of the area to make arrangements for annual Buddha Amarnath Yatra.
On the successful completion of the Yatra, Vijay Kochhar, a senior member of the Budha Amarnath Yatra committee said that heavy rush of devotes was seen this year in the Yatra and it broke all the past records. He said that maximum participation of the people was due to participation of Swami Vishwatmanad Saraswati who had tremendous followers in India.
Meanwhile the Yatries have lauded the administration and local people for the arrangements. “I think administration had very well managed the Yatra this year”, a Yatri Kush Gupta said.
