| 55000 devotees performs darshan at Buddha Amarnath ji | | | Early Times Report
POONCH, AUGUST 24- Over 55000 devotees had darshan of Chattani shadow of Shivji at Budha Amarnath temple at Rajpura Mandi nearly 25 kms away from Poonch district Headquarters today. All religious rites were carried on under the supervision of Rajguru Swami Vishwatma Nand Ji Maharaj, the Chief Mahant of Shri Dashnami Akhara Mandir Poonch which culminated on the eve of Raksha Bandhan festival today as a tradition.
District Development Commissioner, Poonch Mr. Kuldeep Khajuria and SSP Poonch S. Manmohan Singh besides other senior officers of District Administration monitored the necessary arrangements including availability of drinking water, power supply, law and order, langers sanitation, transport etc made by district administration and Sanantam Dharam Sabha Poonch to meet heavy rush of yatries. Elaborate arrangements were also made at Poonch district headquarters. Besides providing accommodation at Dashnami Akhara Mandir complex at Poonch, various complexes of Muslim missionary Madarsas, educational institutions and other complexes were also reserved for yatries this year.
This year Chhari Mubarak was flagged off by Minister for Medical and Technical Education Mr. R. S. Chib and Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla from Dashnami Akhara Mandir Poonch to Mandi via Chandak the other day. Vice Chairman Gujjar and Bakarwal Development Advisory Board Mr. Bashir Ahmed Naz, MLA Poonch Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Jan, Mr. Yash Pal Sharma a prominent political figure of Poonch and other prominent citizens and thousands of devotees participated in Chhari procession.
