Slathia for achieving Rs 13 Cr target in Handicrafts Corporation | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, August 24- Minister for Industry and Commerce S. S. Slathia today called for putting in sincere efforts by the management of J&K Handicraft (S&E) Corporation limited to achieve the targets of sales turnover of Rs. 13 Crore this year. The Minister, who is also chairman of Board of Directors was speaking at the 116th meeting of Board of Directors of J&K Handicrafts (S&E) Corporation limited. Slathia said the corporation should gear up its men and machinery to achieve the target and assured that all other issues of the corporation would be simultaneously be sorted out in consultation with Planning and Finance Department. The Minister stressed on increasing the sales turnover of every showroom across the country and urged for identification of potentially prime locations which will increase the sale turn over. He said showroom of the corporation should be given a face lift in order to attract more and more tourists and increase their sales turn over. The board unanimously agreed to the proposal of renovation of Mumbai main showroom provided the sale turnover increases. It also agreed to the proposal for relocation of Jaipur Showroom to the new identified one for one year on trial basis. The Board also suggested identifying a prime new location in Goa for shifting the existing showroom in order to promote sales. With regard to other administrative agenda points, the managing Director was asked to come up with comprehensive proposals to address all issues. The members of the Board of Directors, who attended the meeting include Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce Umang Narula, commissioner Secretary, Planning B. B. Vyas, Commissioner Secretary Finance Sudhanshu Pandy.
