EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 24: The inhabitants of migrant camp at Nagrota in a joint statement have demanded probe into the unlawful act and behaviour of relief and rescue organisations in connection with dismantling of constructed tenements for public purpose. While assailing the concerned authorities, the camp dwellers alleged and disclosed that the revenue generating economy of India has been grossly ditched by some mischief mangers of the said organisations as crore of rupees have been misappropriated by them in the name of migrant uptill now and the state exchequer rendered worthless. They further alleged and indicted the organisations for resorting to anti-public friendly formula which has caused a great havoc for development working in the state. No investigating agency is coming forward to curb this menace of mis-appropriating of crore of rupees.
Initially these tenements were constructed with the aid from Central govt for sheltering the migrants. Now in the open eyes of the public these tenement are now under the process of dismantling at the behest of some vested interests and their iron doors and window frames are being removed from the location.
Because of the incessant rains, some migrants have also been victimised by the flash floods, their personal belongings costing lakhs of rupees have either been washed away or extensively damaged, but the relief and rescue organisations have totally failed to accommodate the flood victims.
KP migrants further alleged that there are a large number of Doda, migrants who still await their rehabilitation, they are also being ignored for giving them any appropriate Shelter, instead the constructed tenements after spending huge amount of money are being dismantled which is a heavy loss to the govt.
Through a press release, the leaders of Kashmiri migrants have demanded an enquiry against the interested authorities to seek the end of the justice and the charges should be framed against each culprit who are bent upon to ditch the govt and put the state in financial stringency by resorting to unlawful activities.
